Ministry of Education launched the 1Sukan 1Murid on June 9, 2011, which is two-fold to complete the scope of sports development in schools produce students well-balanced physically, emotionally, spiritually and intellectually. Director-General Datuk Abdul Ghafar Mahmud said the policy was mandatory for all students who have not experienced health problems choose one sport the school offered or conducted with the consent of the school. The Ministry has outlined several ways in order to strengthen the implementation of this policy that the school should make a systematic planning, maximize the use of facilities, equipment and expertise, establish partnerships with relevant agencies and ensure that recreational sport throughout the year.
Among other things, this policy aims to promote sports culture among students to become members of the community to adopt healthy and active lifestyle. 1Sukan 1Murid policy announced by Deputy Prime Minister and Education Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, in March aimed at strengthening the development of school sports programs in line before the High Performance Sports School (SPTS), dedicated to developing excellent school athletes implemented since July 2008. Muhyiddin, outlines six strategies to strengthen sport in schools, in announcing the SPTS and hope the program will restore excellence involved in school sports across the country. Our school had launched our Larian 1Murid 1Sukan during our second day of our sports day. The run was launched by our Principal, Mr Bong Jin Fu. Before the run, a warm-up session was conducted by our PJK teacher, Mr Hamdan and Mr Hendrew.
